Breaking; Bills WR Issues 2-Word Prediction on Team’s Offense After Stefon Diggs
During the offseason, significant modifications have been made to the Buffalo Bills’ offense. The team has suffered a loss of their two highest-ranking wide receivers as Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis departed from the squad.
The situation has presented a promising chance for the team’s leading receiver. Khalil Shakir, who had an impressive performance in 2023, anticipates that under the new offensive coordinator Joe Brady’s guidance next season, there will be an offense where everyone thrives – as he puts it “everybody eats.”
Khalil Shakir assumes a new role.
Shakir, who spent his initial two seasons in Buffalo as a backup to Diggs and Davis on the depth chart, is anticipated to become one of the essential components for next season. Following Ken Dorsey’s mid-season dismissal, Brady assumed responsibility as offensive coordinator and expressed admiration for Shakir’s field instincts.
“Khalil Shakir is the epitome of intelligence,” Brady stated during OTAs, as reported by Matt Bove of WKBW. “Whether he’s positioned outside or inside and has a grasp on zone coverage or man-to-man defense – he embodies all the qualities you’d desire in a wide receiver.”
According to Bove, Shakir’s productivity significantly rose under Brady’s leadership. During the last seven games of the regular season, he surpassed Diggs by making 30 catches for 438 yards with two touchdowns. Furthermore, in the postseason, Shakir continued his impressive performance by achieving ten catches for 75 yards and scoring two touchdowns in his team’s two playoff games during the previous season.
This week, Shakir expressed his pleasure in playing under Brady and eagerly anticipated a complete season with him leading the team.
According to Shakir, as a new member joining the team, it feels like you have struck gold because of the exceptional personality and coaching skills possessed by him. Henceforth, one would be motivated to work tirelessly for him.
Bills Expected to Spread Targets Next Season
It has been suggested by Shakir that the Bills will likely distribute their passes more evenly now that Diggs and Davis have left. The acquisition of seasoned receivers like Chase Claypool, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Curtis Samuel has bolstered the team’s passing game plan.
It is anticipated that Dalton Kincaid, the tight end, will have a significant responsibility in the upcoming season. He aims to expand his contribution after an impressive rookie year with 73 receptions for 673 yards and two touchdowns. During a press conference this week, Kincaid supported Shakir’s forecast of being inclusive by distributing passes amongst multiple teammates next season.
“The guy wouldn’t be me. We have a plethora of weapons on our offense,” he shared with Rachel Auberger from SB Nation. “We’re going to utilize everyone, and having Josh as the quarterback will ensure that there’s equal distribution of opportunities for all players. This year we’ll definitely add a couple more targets, which is exciting.”
Kincaid was also thrilled at the prospect of working with Brady as the permanent offensive coordinator for a full season, having previously served in an interim capacity.
Kincaid stated that although there were not significant changes, they have made several adjustments since last year. He added that the liberty and flexibility to experiment with new things is highly beneficial for their creativity at present.
