Breaking; Bills Coach Sean McDermott Puts Team on Notice With 4-Word Message
This year, Sean McDermott, the head coach of the Buffalo Bills who is known for ending mandatory minicamp early has broken tradition. Despite his usual practice of giving players an early vacation after just two days on field, he chose not to do so this time around.
When questioned about his choice to conduct practice on June 13, McDermott provided a straightforward response stating that the team required it as per Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.
In March, six important veterans were released as the Bills conducted a major overhaul of their roster. Following this move and supplemented by free agent acquisitions alongside 10 rookies drafted in the NFL Draft for 2024, there is now an abundance of new faces present within Orchard Park.
“It’s important to practice,” McDermott reminded reporters, clarifying why his team required a third day of minicamp this year. “With a large number of new players on the roster, it is crucial that we obtain as many repetitions as feasible for optimal performance.”
After informing the players that they wouldn’t be given a day off, McDermott praised their response. He expressed gratitude for their eagerness and demeanor during practice, particularly since not all squads were conducting sessions on the third day of minicamp.
The team will have a six-week hiatus after concluding minicamp, before embarking on training camp. Following their break, players are required to report at St. John Fisher University in Rochester by July 23 for the commencement of training camp, with practice starting the day thereafter.
As his players went on vacation, McDermott conveyed a powerful message. “Prepare yourselves,” he instructed firmly. “During the offseason, prioritize sound decision-making… from start to finish. So be prepared and stay fit because an arduous camp awaits you.”
Bills QB Josh Allen Plans to Keep Working with the Wide Receivers During the Break
Josh Allen, the quarterback for Bills, informed journalists earlier this week that he will only be partially vacationing during the break.
After Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis’ departures, Allen’s leading receivers consist of Curtis Samuel, Keon Coleman Mack Hollins alongside the reappearance of Khalil Shakir.
Allen stated that it’s important to meet during the summer break and training camp, maintain open communication about routes and concepts. By listening to each other and sharing what they see or feel, both parties can aim for continuous improvement every day.

During this offseason, Allen disclosed that he is collaborating with Chris Hess – the proprietor of Biometrik to improve his arm mechanics. Despite having one of NFL’s most formidable arms, through digital mapping techniques, the Wyoming graduate aims to refine his posture for greater efficiency.
“It’s not a complete overhaul of my throwing motion, but there are certainly some aspects that need improvement and refinement,” stated Allen. “My arm extension is too long, and I’m struggling with the length of my stride as well. My goal is to fix these issues. However, going through this process can be challenging at times – it doesn’t always feel great.”
