Golf Talk Today: An early look at the Team USA Presidents Cup, …see full detail below 👇⬇️
The Presidents Cup will be held later this year, pitting American and international teams against each other. Let’s take a look at Team USA. Welcome to our new morning ritual Playthrough: Golf Talk Today
Every morning, “Golf Talk Today” takes place where the team discusses various aspects of the PGA Tour, LIV Golf and other professional golf tournaments.
Discussions about the 2024 Presidents Cup are starting way too early today. The American team will travel to the Royal Montreal Golf Club from September 24 to 29 to face the international team. Professional golfers will enjoy another trip to Canada in 2024 following the huge success of the RBC Canadian Open. Golf fans in the Far North will not be disappointed, but will it be too much of a home competition for Americans? In 2022, Team USA won its ninth consecutive Presidents Cup with a score of 17.5–12.5, improving its record to 12–1–1 in the competition. Although the Presidents Cup doesn’t have as long a history as its biennial counterpart, the Ryder Cup, it still draws crowds. This year’s Team USA captain is Jim Furyk and the international captain is Mike Weir.
According to the Presidents Cup website, six US PGA Tour players will be eligible to earn points. He made no mention of LIV golfers, as they were denied eligibility last year. Various competitions earn points towards the qualifying rankings. Furyk will also receive six captains.
