Genesis Scottish Open 2024 Opening match times, TV coverage, spectator guide
About 75 PGA Tour pros and 75 DP World Tour golfers will compete in the co-sanctioned Genesis Scottish Open in North Berwick, Scotland, this week. But most of the attention will surely be on returning champion Rory McIlroy.
McIlroy is a 2023 winner but has a lot to prove this week as this is his first tournament since falling just short at the U.S. Open and losing to runner-up Bryson DeChambeau at Pinehurst. He played just once at the Genesis Scottish Open, winning all three with rounds of 64, 66, 67 and 68, capping off an impressive one-two with a birdie-birdie finale that featured “one of the best shots” of his illustrious career: a punch to beat fellow Scotsman Robert McIntyre.
A win in that round would have made McIlroy the first golfer to play consecutive tournaments at the Scottish event, giving him a big boost heading into next week’s British Open, but there are several more players in the world’s top 10 who will feature this week and have a say in how things play out. These include Xander Schauffele (2022 winner), Ludwig Oberg, Wyndham Clarke, Collin Morikawa and Viktor Hovland. Tom Kim will also return from a sponsorship outing after finishing T-6 last year.
This week’s winner gets 500 points from the Fedex Cup and reduces $ 1.62 million portfolios. America.
