Keegan Bradley says his 2012 Ryder Cup suitcase remains unopened, details ambitious plan on when to open it
After launching Tiger Woods for months on Monday, the Ryder Cup authorities said Keegan Bradley as a new American captain. With this, Bradley also revealed his plans to open his Ryder Cup 2012 suitcase. The Americans lost the Cup to the Europeans in 2012, which left Bradley unable to open his suitcase of bittersweet memories. The golfer promised to open it if he won the Ryder Cup.
He spoke about it in a recent press conference.
“The 2012 Ryder Cup feels so strange to me because every day except the last one was one of my most enjoyable memories on the golf course. And Sunday was a terrible day on the golf course, one of the worst days of my life, and I went home and I just looked at my suitcase and I was too sad to open it. And the things in the suitcase will only make the situation worse” [11:14]
“So I put it aside and kept looking at it, and the memories inside were so strong on both sides that I decided to wait, I’m not going to open it, and until ‘Now I’ve won the Ryder Cup, it’s still in my house and I hope one day I can open it.
Keegan Bradley also said he is looking forward to the 2025 Ryder Cup and can’t wait to start his preparations. Bradley will lead Team USA to the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black in 2025. He will be the youngest captain of Team USA since Arnold Palmer received the privilege in 1963.
