Very upset’: Sad Tiger sight after historic capitulation

Tiger Woods’ dreams of a record sixth Masters title were dashed Sunday morning in the third round of the Masters after playing the worst nine holes of his 99-round career at Augusta National.
A day after completing a record 24 straight Masters titles, the 48-year-old legend showed signs of struggling and having difficulty moving after suffering serious leg injuries in a car accident in 2021. The live TV broadcast reported there were rumours Woods was about to pull the pin on his round and retire — but the American limped through all 18 holes.
He said after the round he will be back for more on Monday morning and is determined to get through 72 holes. “The team will be ready for us. It’s going to be a long night, a long warm-up, but we’ll be ready to go,” he said. Tiger Woods goes down on a swing. Jamie Squire/Getty Images/AFP. Source: AFP

One Sky Sports commentator said it was “hard to watch” Woods struggle so bad.
“Tiger will be very upset with this round today,” veteran American golf commentator Butch Harmon said. “We know that when he started the match he thought he had a chance to climb the rankings.
“I think playing 23 holes yesterday put a lot of strain on his body. “But having Tiger at the Masters this weekend is what we need and we’re very happy to have him back.”
Woods said he had a chance to win a sixth green jacket, tying Jack Nicklaus’ record, after 36 holes. “I’m here, I have a chance to win a golf tournament,” Woods said Saturday. “I’m only 8 years old.”
The five-time Masters champion was at 1-over 145 after a 1-over-par 73 through 36 holes, and after a bogey on the par-3 fourth hole he was just about to birdie the fifth when disaster struck.
Woods finished Sunday with a bogey, double bogey, double bogey, double bogey front nine for a 42, his worst nine-hole score on either the inside or outside half of the famed layout. The 15-time major winner went through the green at the par-3 sixth, then missed a five-foot par putt and made bogey.
At the par-4 seventh, Woods hit his tee shot into the trees on the right, then hit his second shot into the woods on the left side of the hole and sent his third into a greenside bunker before pitching and miss an 18-foot shot. bogey putt. . It was his first double miss in a week, but it was just a sign of trouble to come. Woods then moved on to the par-5 eighth, the easiest hole at Augusta National this week and where no player made a double bogey, despite Friday’s high winds.
Woods aimed his tee shot into the trees on the left side of the fairway, then floated up onto the short grass. It took him two more balls to reach the green, but he missed a 26-foot par putt and then a 4-foot putt for bogey.
