Nelly Korda and Ludwig Aberg sign with US luxury brand as first golf ambassadors
Nelly Korda and Ludwig Aberg have taken a new shared step in their professional careers. Both golfers are now ambassadors for the prestigious luxury luggage brand TUMI, and will carry TUMI-branded backpacks and bags during tournaments and travels. TUMI recently announced that Nelly Korda and Ludwig Aberg will become its exclusive representatives in the world of professional golf. Notably, Nelly Korda and Ludwig Aberg will be the first golfers to be featured in TUMI’s sponsorship catalogue, which also includes Tottenham Hotspur FC’s Son Heung-min and McLaren F1 driver Lando Norris. Both players announced the news on Instagram with photos of themselves holding exclusive branded merchandise.
“There’s a lot of synergy between Tumi as a brand and the way I approach my game. …We share a common desire for excellence. I think this partnership is truly ideal.”
Founded in New Jersey in 1975, TUMI is now part of Samsonite, a multinational manufacturer and distributor of suitcases, bags, briefcases and more. Samsonite owns some of the best-known brands in the luggage industry, including eBags, Hartman Luggage and Tumi.
TUMI’s relationship with golf continues to grow. The brand was chosen to design the trophy boxes for three key events: the PGA Tour, the LPGA Tour’s Tour Championship and the Solheim Cup.
“Millions of travelers around the world choose TUMI to protect what they value most every day. We are thrilled to bring this renowned strength and ingenuity to the defense of these trophies, which symbolize years of hard work, dedication and passion of the sport’s finest players.”
Nelly Korda will compete for the Solheim Cup and Tour Championship trophies. Korda has already secured her spot on the American team for the Solheim Cup and will be looking for her first win at the event. The 2024 tournament at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia will be Korda’s fourth appearance. The world No. 1 also qualified for the CME Group Tour Championship. Her six wins this season (five straight, one major) put her atop the LPGA Tour points list.
As for Ludwig Aberg, he also has a good chance of getting to the TOUR Championship and competing for the trophy. Aberg is sixth in the FedEx Cup standings and will need to finish in the top 30 after the BMW Championship, the second tournament of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, to qualify for the season finale.
