In the recent episode of their Spotify podcast, the analysts spoke about DeChambeau connecting with the crowd and called it a \”PR stunt.\” Speaking of the 30-year-old, the show host said:

\”When you see him doing everything with the crowds and winning them over, of course, it\’s a PR thing. But I don’t think that matters much to the audience. He captured the public’s imagination because he looks like Mickelson, which Mickelson isn’t. But the crowd doesn’t care, because if they get a high-five, a thumbs-up and a smile from Mickelson, they’ll go home happy. » (29:20:29:40)

However, the host agrees that even though it’s a PR stunt, DeChambeau’s antics make it “interesting and entertaining.”

“But as for Bryson DeChambeau, at least he’s interesting. He\’s fascinating to watch, and you need that. You need someone who\’s a bit different. “You need someone that people can think of as a tool, or that they think is great, but at least people are thinking about them, and that’s what you want him to interact with,” he added.
