Bronny James’ best game with Lakers happened because of help from parents LeBron and Savannah
Bronny’s NBA Summer League struggled came to a halt on Wednesday night. It hasn’t been the start to his professional career that Bronny James envisioned all his life, that’s for sure. A rough few games to start the NBA Summer League led to a lot of criticism for the Los Angeles Lakers’ 2nd round pick.Despite the negative attention, Bronny continued playing while trying to break his slump. He finally did on Wednesday night against the Atlanta Hawks, scoring 12 points on an efficient 5-for-11 shooting night. He also made two of his five three-point attempts, including a late one that tied the game at 79-79.Following the game, Bronny was asked how he’s dealt with the negative backlash to this point, and he gave a special shoutout to his parents, LeBron and Savannah. While a portion of his performance leading up to Wednesday night could be attributed to Bronny being raw and needing to develop, it’s become clear that there’s a mental aspect that has taken a toll. Expectations are high, simply because he’s LeBron’s son, but he’s just a 2nd round pick after all.Hopefully, his solid outing against the Hawks can be a turning point in his young career. Summer League games don’t count, but they can be very useful to further a player’s development. Bronny needs it, and he can put it to good use before the regular season.
