Amanda Balionis, one of CBS’ highly-recognizable golf reporters, has been dismissed after the network received a jolting message from professional golfer Rory McIlroy.

It has been reported that Rory McIlroy employed the services of a private investigator to deliver divorce papers to Erica Stoll just one day after he triumphed at the Wells Fargo Championship.

According to a report, Rory McIlroy hired a private investigator to deliver divorce papers to Erica Stoll.

Amidst a hectic major season, professional golfer McIlroy took a well-deserved week off only to learn of the revelation from a Belfast Telegraph report that was published over the weekend.

McIlroy’s private plane was reportedly in Italy, as per the flight tracker radaratlas2 on X. It is speculated that he might have attended a wedding; however, no concrete evidence has been found yet to support this claim.

McIlroy initiated legal proceedings to end his seven-year marriage with his wife on May 13, just one day after he won his 26th PGA Tour title at the Wells Fargo Championship.

According to the BT report, McIlroy electronically signed the documents sometime from 9:06pm to 9:08pm EDT on May 9th.

Thomas Sasser, who previously acted as counsel for Tiger Woods during his divorce from Elin Nordegren following the revelation of his infidelity, submitted the legal proceedings to Palm Beach County Court.

Documents filed in court indicate that Erica was served with the summons by Carl Woods.

Having started his career in 1987, Woods is an experienced law enforcement officer who holds certifications as a homicide investigator and a license as a private investigator.

According to the BT’s report:

According to the documents submitted by Woods, he was given the divorce papers at 9:58am on May 13th by Sasser’s firm. At precisely 10:30 am, he himself served Stoll with those same papers while at The Bear’s Club – an exclusive development located in Jack Nicklaus’ property that serves as home for McIlroy’s family.

According to him, Stoll was a thin white woman with blonde hair in her 30s. She stood somewhere between 5ft 7in and 5ft8in tall and did not have glasses on.

Stoll was served a summons with a warning that she had 20 days to file her written response to her husband’s petition with the circuit court clerk.

Rory McIlroy can be restated as “The golfer, Rory McIlroy”.

In addition, it was clarified in the document that a mere phone call will not suffice for your protection. You must file a written response containing the mentioned case number and names of involved parties if you wish to have your arguments heard by the court.

Not filing your response on time could result in losing the case, and subsequently having your wages, money, and property seized without additional notice from the court.

It is important to note that there are additional legal obligations. Seeking immediate counsel from an attorney is highly advised, and if you do not have a personal lawyer, options such as utilizing an attorney referral service or seeking assistance from a legal aid organization (listed in the phone directory) may be helpful alternatives.
