Tiger Woods reacts perfectly after clashing with security at The Open
Tiger Woods missed the final two days of The Open, but one golfer shared the story of how the 15-time major winner was at the peak of his powers.
Golf legend Tiger Woods once left security at The Open completely red-faced after being refused entry into Royal Troon.
The four-time claret jug winner has fallen on tougher times since then and is not in contention to win this year after missing the cut. Woods finished the second day at 6 over par, finishing at 14 over par, eight strokes over the cut line.
Woods hasn’t had a good run at the British Open in recent years, finishing 6th in 2018 but losing four of his last five majors since 2015. It’s a stark contrast to the 48-year-old’s prime: Between 1998 and 2006, Woods won the British Open four times but finished outside the top 10 only twice. But that didn’t stop the 15-time major winner from having a surprising exchange with a security guard at the height of his fame.

PGA golfer Michael Kim recounted an incident at the X earlier this week, days before the start of the Royal Troon Open. “In the open championship, the players receive a clip as powers to deliver you to the locker room and everywhere,” said Kim.
“In the mid -2000s, the Tiger once forgot his video, and he went to the locker room when the goalkeeper arrested him, asking for his authority. “Tiger looks around, sees a huge billboard with his name and face, points at it, says, ‘Here are my credentials,’ and walks into the locker room.”
This will all seem like a long way to go for Woods, as he has been forced to reject suggestions that he should retire. Despite not making the cut, Woods remained optimistic about the future as he discussed his second round in Scotland. “It wasn’t very good,” Woods admitted. “I took it at 2pm and struggled all day.” I never really hit it close enough to hit birdies and I made a lot of bogeys.
