Tiger Woods’ Son, Charlie, Misses The Cut At The U.S. Junior Amateur Championship

Tiger Woods’ son Charlie misses U.S. Junior Amateur

At just 15 years old, Charlie Woods is under a lot of pressure to succeed.

Woods qualified for his first U.S. Junior Amateur earlier this year after shooting a 1-under 71 in the USGA qualifier in Florida. Tiger Woods (along with 500 other golf fans) watched every shot as Charlie recorded rounds of 12-over (82) and 10-over (80) at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Township, Michigan. Charlie missed the mark and finished 247th out of 264 players. While the initial thought might be disappointment, Charlie currently ranks as the No. 763 junior golfer in the world. Shock and awe isn’t necessary. Charlie (and Tiger) drew huge crowds and, although he missed the cut, his fans were with them throughout both rounds. As Charlie prepares for his sophomore year of high school, he is looking to replace his dad’s giant golf shoes. For reference, Tiger qualified for his first U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at age 14, so Charlie is only a year behind his father – for now.
