Tiger Woods Sends Message to Bryson DeChambeau After Two-Year Cold Shoulder
DeChambeau, unsurprisingly, was asked to comment on the 15-time major winner from LIV Golf United Kingdom earlier this week. He referred to Woods as the “most influential” figure in the game of golf right now while also dropping a prediction about the rest of the 48-year-old’s career. “He’s probably the most influential figure in the game of golf. He is the most influential figure in the game of golf right now, and I think he deserves to play in the majors,” DeChambeau said, via DailyMail.co.uk. “He wants to win. He’s a competitor. I think that’s admirable, for him to be able to do that.”I think he can do it still. He’s going to have a tough road to beat us youngsters, but he’s got that grit and fire in him that he’s not going to stop until he gets it done. I wouldn’t put it past him.” Woods, an 82-time winner on the PGA Tour, last found the winner’s circle in late 2019 at the Zozo Championship. That win came just months after the 2019 Masters, Woods’ 15th and most recent major victory. He wasn’t alone, however, as DeChambeau, four-time major winner Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, and several of the game’s top stars missed out on playing the weekend too. Woods’ next competitive appearance is expected to come at December’s Hero World Challenge.
