Phil Michelson welcomes the golfer’s LIV experience with a higher gesture at $ 25 million during the event.
Andy Ogretty’s growth on a professional golf course was one of the books. In 2023, Eldo, 26, returned from the ashes, not literally, on the back, shape, shape, or turn. After the break, he started playing on the Asian Circuit and as you can see, it has turned out great for him. The pro is currently playing with Phil Mickelson at Highflyers GC in LIV and that has helped him in several ways. Lefty seems to have Ogletree on his side, which could be the reason for his recent success. Ahead of the $25 million LIV Golf UK tournament, Mickelson gave Ogletree some advice about his wrist injury. In an Instagram post shared by the HyFlyers GC, the 26-year-old was seen taking Mickelson’s advice for his swing. The 3-time Asian Tour player revealed in the video that he has been suffering from pain in his left wrist whenever trying to make the cut swing using his flexion. So he tried to find a way to prevent further damage to his wrist. As a veteran, Mickelson made the 26-year-old a strong offer. “Phil gave me tips on how to hit the right shot deeper on the backswing so I can keep the club in front of me and stiffen the shaft without using my wrists,” Ogletree said.
And it worked for Ogletree as he felt no pain, ultimately helping him finish in singles after 18 holes at JCB Golf & Course Club.
That’s not to take anything away from the three-time Asian Tour winner, but Mickelson’s advice likely helped him achieve better results and compete for his first LIV Golf win. Lefty has been known to help many golfers with his little tips. After he joined Ogletree, another PGA Tour pro declared him his “big brother.”
Lefty has been known to take many aspiring golfers under his wing and become their mentor. Here are some of the names he has helped teach: Jon Rahm, Branden Steele, Akshay Bhatia, etc. The Spaniard was the mentor of Mickelson, who was once ranked outside the 300th, when he was coached by Dave Phillips. Nevertheless, even Philips appreciated Lefti’s influence on the frame, saying: “It was an excellent sound” for a big winner at two o’clock, according to golf.com.
In addition, Akshay Bhatia, who has never entered university, studied Mikelson since he was a teenager. In an interview with the Foreplay Podcast, Bhatia credited Lefty with “teaching me my swing” and being like a “big brother” to him. Not only that, he also helped aspiring PGA Tour pro Mark Baldwin through a tough Qualifying School stint, playing with him for three hours. As a six-time major champion, he has supported many golfers and helped them improve their game, a privilege that Ogletree will now enjoy that many may not have the chance to enjoy. The question is, will this advice actually result in a win for Ogletree?
