The long-awaited result is here: Tiger’s son achieves full round success in the 2024 U.S. Junior Amateur Golf Championship, creating a stunning sensation!

The complete results of the first round for Tiger’s son at the 2024 U.S. Junior Amateur Golf Championship have been released.

As Tiger Woods faces uncertainties about his future due to his struggles at the Open Championship, where he fell far behind the cut line, his son Charlie Woods is taking a promising step forward in his budding career on Monday.

For the first time, Woods participated in the U.S. Junior Amateur Golf Championship course held in Michigan along with 263 other players. The six-day tournament commences with stroke play while only allowing a maximum of 64 participants to progress beyond this stage.

Having witnessed the triumphs of acclaimed golfers such as Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth and Will Zalatoris in recent years, Woods aims to establish himself among top young players worldwide at the start of his career.

Take a glance at the outcomes of Woods during his participation in the U.S. Junior Amateur Golf Championship.

Today’s results for Charlie Woods.

After a promising start, Woods faltered on his first day of the course. He stumbled after completing three clean holes and encountered double bogeys on multiple occasions (holes No. 4, 9,11,14 and 17). As a result of finishing at twelve-over par he is now significantly behind as he heads into the second and final day of stroke play.

The U.S. Junior Amateur posed a challenge for all players at Oakland Hills Country Club, as only 19 of them were under par midway through the day. Unfortunately, despite their efforts to overcome this difficulty, he found himself closer to the bottom rather than within the top 64 – which is crucial since advancing requires being part of that group before Tuesday’s event portion begins.

When Woods finished his round, he was deadlocked with 188 other participants out of the total 201 who had begun playing.

Although Woods managed to sink two birdies on holes No.5 and 12 which helped him avoid an even worse outcome, he is clearly not satisfied with his performance in one of the major events of his early career.

What is the age of Charlie Woods?

In February 2025, Woods will be turning sixteen; currently he is fifteen years old.

Woods, who is a participant in the U.S. Junior Amateur tournament, belongs to the younger section of golfers aged 19 and below. He can continue competing until 2027 when he will still be under eighteen years old. In this year’s competition, there are two participants as young as thirteen years old present in the field alongside Woods.

Considering his father’s skills, it comes as no shock that Woods has been actively involved in competitive golf since a tender age. When he was barely 11 years old, the adolescent played alongside his dad during the PNC Championship tournament. Recently, he contributed to leading his high school team to victory and winning an esteemed state championship title this past November.

Despite not making the cut for the U.S. Open during spring, Woods secured a place in a pre-qualifying tournament of PGA Tour earlier this year and is now gradually approaching prominent tournaments. With next year marking his 16th birthday, Woods has ample time to improve all aspects of his game.
