With a sharp tongue, Tiger Woods retaliates against Colin Montgomerie during his press conference at the Open as he sets his sights on triumph at Royal Troon.

Colin Montgomerie’s retirement remarks were brusquely ignored by Tiger Woods, who firmly asserts his capability of winning another Open Championship.

Having won his 15th major championship at the Masters in 2019, the now-48-year-old golfer has faced challenges with his physical condition since surviving a car accident that nearly resulted in losing one of his legs earlier this year.

In April, he qualified for The Masters but ended up finishing poorly at 16-over-par. He continued to struggle throughout the PGA Championship and US Open.

Former rival Montgomerie has stated that it’s time for Woods to retire, just before he reappears at The Open in Royal Troon this week.

During his pre-tournament press conference, Woods was questioned about Montgomerie’s remarks and he replied by stating that he intends to compete as long as he believes he has the capacity to triumph in the event.

Observe how Tiger Woods, who was limping, almost had a hole-in-one on the Postage Stamp at Royal Troon.

The rule change that could have shortened Tiger Woods’ Open career did not affect him.

Since I am a former (Open) champion, I have an exemption until the age of 60. However, Colin is not exempt since he has never been a past champion.

“He has no authority to make that decision; it is mine to make. When I reach his age, only then do I possess the right to decide, not him.”

The responses given by Woods elicited laughter from the journalists who were eagerly anticipating them.

When questioned about any doubts he may have developed regarding winning another major in the recent years, Woods replied with a straightforward “No.”

Tiger Woods has strongly implied his future golf plans by criticizing a competitor.

Rahm, who was visibly emotional, offered apologies to Tiger after defeating him at the Olympic golf venue.

During the game, Rory McIlroy hit a tee shot that landed on a woman’s lap and his reaction delighted the crowd.

Andy Murray has disclosed his desire to pursue a new sport after he eventually retires from tennis, outlining his post-tennis ambitions.

As Jimmy Fallon went through some uproarious memes about Tiger Woods’ recent viral moment, the golf star couldn’t hold back his laughter and broke down.

On Sunday, Woods relished a practice session at Troon where he came close to sinking the ball in one shot on the renowned Postage Stamp par-3 eighth hole.

Having revisited the course on both Monday and Tuesday, he is now in anticipation of receiving details about his grouping and tee time for Thursday’s inaugural round at the 152nd Open.

According to Woods, he has cherished playing at Troon. However, he could only play in this venue twice – once in 1997 where he tied for the 24th position and another time in 2004 where he landed a tie on fourth place.

By utilizing the ground, you can effectively hit shots and skillfully shape them.

Take a glance at some of the previous champions who have demonstrated their artistry in maneuvering and utilizing the ground on the golf course. This particular golf field provides you with that same opportunity.

As you age, your ability to carry the ball diminishes. However, in this scenario with favorable wind and trajectory adjustments, it’s possible to drive a golf ball up to 100 yards.

One of the reasons why older champions occupy a prominent position on the board is because they are not compelled to carry the ball 320 yards anymore, in my opinion.

I cannot wait for it. When Troon was last here, I missed out on playing it; thus this time around, I am excited to take up the challenges set by the course.

I am aware that they have extended several holes and added some bunkers to make it a much longer golf course. It is quite evident that one of the nines, either going out or coming back in with wind support or opposite conditions will be beneficial for golf players on this course.
