Biles has garnered widespread acclaim as the best gymnast ever and she solidified this status with an impressive showing during Sunday’s qualifications that required tremendous perseverance.

Biles overcame a calf injury sustained during her warmup for the floor routine and achieved the highest overall score, positioning herself well to increase her gold medal tally in Tuesday’s team final.

On her Instagram, Biles posted pictures from Sunday’s qualifying event. Her esteemed fans, such as 12-time Grammy Award recipient John Legend inundated her comment section with encouraging messages.

He wrote, “You fill us with pride.”
