PGA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for the International Golf Event

Who is your favorite contrarian golfer (when considering price, key stats, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?Notorious: Jon Rahm – His pOWN% might creep up a bit throughout the week given the fact that he won last week on LIV and that he’s only one of two golfers priced above $9,000 that has played this course in a stroke play event (T5 in 2018). It’s been a disappointing year for the Spaniard, but he seems to be finding his form. The week before his win on LIV, he finished T7 at The Open Championship, which was by far his best finish at any of the majors this year. We know he has missed playing some of the events on the PGA TOUR this season, so he has some added motivation this week. A win would get him into THE PLAYERS Championship in 2025.stlcardinals84: Shubhankar Sharma – We don’t see him on the PGA TOUR, and he is definitely not going to be a household name for those that are used to playing PGA TOUR DFS contests. However, Sharma has been playing well on the DP World Tour of late, and he has now made seven straight cuts in a row. That includes a 5th place finish at the Italian Open last month and a solid 19th place finish at The Open Championship in the season’s final major. He also has experience on this course, with two made cuts in three tries when the DP World Tour has played here, so that experience might be an edge for him this week.JBails26: Min Woo Lee – It may be hard to find a true contrarian golfer in this 60-man field unless you target some of the golfers not many people have ever heard of. However, I don’t expect Min Woo’s ownership to be too high since most of the value appears to be below this price tier. He’s also not projecting strongly, so that may keep him from being a favorite of the sims and optimizers. Overall, Min Woo isn’t a strong iron player, but he can spike in any Strokes Gained category at any time. Over his last 25 starts, he has seven top-8 finishes (including two wins), but he also has nine finishes 40th or worse. I’m just hoping this is a week where we see Min Woo spike.hondizzle: Viktor Hovland – Coming off a stellar Ryder Cup showing last fall, Viktor Hovland looked poised to have a season filled with success. Plagued by poor play, it’s safe to say that this year has been an utter disappointment for Hovland. I can’t think of a better place to save a season than a chance to win an international golf event. Hovland will not be very popular, but I think few would argue against his talent from a long term point of view.
