Tiger Woods’ niece, Cheyenne Woods, speaks out about her daughter’s health issues and recovery
These symptoms made it difficult for her to eat and gain weight, leading to surgery and the use of a feeding tube.
Woods said she felt “scared and helpless” during this period, to the point where she was afraid to leave her house. Despite these challenges, Maya’s recent progress has brought joy and relief to her family.
Who is Cheyenne Woods? Since turning professional in 2012, Cheyenne Woods has had a notable victory at the 2014 Volvik RACV Ladies Masters on the Ladies European Tour.
Though she does not currently have LPGA status, Woods remains hopeful that she may qualify for another U.S. Women’s Open in the future. However, her primary focus has shifted to family, especially after the birth of her children, Cameron and Maya, and the unexpected loss of her older brother last year.
Reflecting on her priorities, Woods expressed the profound influence her family has had on her life. “After traveling a lot alone on the road, away from my family, what I enjoy most now is waking up and making my son’s breakfast, and even late night meals with my daughter,” she said.
“Our family is really what is most important to me in terms of priority. Not only have I had two children in the past two years, but I also lost my brother suddenly last year. In addition to the wonderful blessing of having children, it has really brought home to me the importance of family and being there for them when I can.”
While Woods may not be returning to full-time competition, he enjoys watching golf and hopes to balance playing occasionally with his family responsibilities. His son, Cameron, also loves sports and is interested in both golf and baseball.
Woods said he wants his children to appreciate his achievements, stating, “Ultimately, I want my kids to see what their mommy can do and what she used to do.”
