Rory McIlroy hit his tee shot down the fairway on the 13th hole and was poised for a birdie. However, he made a small mistake and was apparently furious with himself upon contact.
The putt wasn’t as bad as McIlroy showed as he reached the green and holed a 26-foot birdie putt. The 35 -year -old golfer finally had two shots and became a decent peer.
Rory Mcilroy was one of the favorite men’s golf events in Paris at the 2024 Olympics. He started his campaign well, finishing at -3 on the first day and remaining in the top half of the leaderboard.
The Irishman started his second round well with an eagle on the third hole and a birdie on the fifth hole. Unfortunately, this advantage was neutralized by eight ghosts. This is because it remained-3 in the ninety-year aftermath.
Masilla could not give a big impulse on his back when he took the terrible, double ghosts, two birds. He ended the day at -2, -5 for the event after Round 2, and is six strokes behind the leader.
Rory McIlroy has previously underestimated the Olympics and said that the Majors are more important to him. He said of golf’s return to the Olympics in 2016 (via The Mirror):
“I never dreamed of playing in the Olympics or winning an Olympic medal. So in my opinion, the main sport will always be more important.”
McIlroy did not compete in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, where golf returned as an Olympic sport after 112 years. Rory went on to compete in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and is now training for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Irishman has since had a change of heart and recently said winning a medal would be one of the greatest achievements of his career over the past decade. “That will definitely be the highlight of the year, if not, I think it’s pretty well known that I haven’t won a Grand Slam tournament in the last 10 years.” It will probably be one of, if not the most important, of my career over the last 10 years,” McIlroy said (via The Mirror).
