Charlie Woods and Eva Lai won their divisions at the 2024 South Florida PGA Junior Cup. The event, held on the newly renovated East Course at Barren Isles Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, is simply called “The Cup” and is one of eight junior tournaments on the South Florida Junior PGA Tour.
Woods beat 62 other junior golfers, while Lai beat 25 women. Woods shot 73-68-73 to become the only golfer in his division to finish under par.
“I feel like this is the result of a lot of hard work this summer,” Woods said at the PGA Open. “I wanted to get myself back and I’m happy with my performance.”
Two weeks ago, Woods missed out on qualifying for American Day, the Junior Amateur, which is open to the first 64 players. “I wanted it so badly,” he said of the associate title, “I was focused and knew what I needed to do to get there.” I wanted to prove it to myself that I could do better. \ “
