Lydia Ko of New Zealand and Morgana Metro of Switzerland are tied at 9 under par heading into the final day of the women’s golf tournament after an action-packed third day at Le Golf National.
Metro, who led yesterday, was 1 over par for the day before closing out the day with an eagle on the 18th for a 1 under 71. Ko, who has already won silver and bronze medals at the past two Olympics, is in good position to finish the series with a gold medal after shooting 68 on Saturday to give her a four-point lead and two spots on the rankings.
Behind her are Rose Chan of the United States and Miyu Yamashita of Japan, two strokes back at 7 under. Nelli Corda and the head of the first round, Selin Buutier, are also Nelli Corda and the head of the first round, linked to the seventh of four younger people.
Great Britain Charlie Hull and Georgia Hall remain out of action.
Hull posted a third-round three-under 69 as she continued to repair some of the damage from her disastrous nine-over 81 in Wednesday\’s opening round.
Team-mate Hall carded a one-under 71 to sit at three over overall.
