Simone Biles, 27, an American, has just become the greatest gymnast of all time. She has won a total of 11 Olympic medals, including 7 gold medals. At the 2024 Paris Olympics alone, she won 4 medals, 3 gold medals and 1 silver medal
. She has also won 30 world championship medals.Biles was born into a family of 4 siblings in the state of Ohio, USA, and her mother could not take care of her children, so all 4 had to go to a foster care center. Later, her grandfather took her and 1 younger sibling in.
The remaining 2 were raised by her grandfather’s sister.Despite this, Biles started learning gymnastics at the age of 6 and enrolled in the optional program of Bannon’s Gymnastix near her home in Texas. At the age of 8, she was taught by a teacher there, Aimee Boorman. Biles rose to prominence in 2013 after becoming the US national champion and world all-around champion at the age of 16, having been selected to the US national team for her individual achievements a year earlier.Biles attended elementary school in Texas and was passionate about gymnastics.
