Due to underestimating her opponent for just a minute, Nelly Korda missed out on the Olympic gold medal this year and was brought to tears.

Despite her best efforts, Nelly Korda (United States), the gold medalist from the previous tournament, was unable to reclaim her title due to difficulties with swinging.

On early Saturday morning, the fourth and last round of golf commenced with impressive performances leading to a significant reorganization on the leaderboard.

Lydia Ko (New Zealand) has finally secured her spot in the LPGA Hall of Fame, having gained the gold.

Throughout her professional career, she has amassed an impressive stack of accomplishments.

Having previously earned a silver and bronze medal from the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Olympic games, respectively.

Few could achieve the list of honors held by Ko, who is only 27 years old.

Esther Henseleit earned the silver medal at her inaugural Olympic Games performance, representing Germany. On the green, she exhibited exceptional effort and determination by bouncing back from 13th position in Round 3. Despite starting with a score of just two-under in the Final Round, she secured an impressive eight-under total rewarded with second place – only trailing behind Ko by two points.

Finishing the tournament 7-under and one stroke behind Henseleit, Lin Xiyu from China secured the bronze medal. Although Paris 2024 marked her third Olympic appearance, it was not until Saturday’s competition that she earned her first-ever medal.

Despite their efforts, Team USA failed to earn a podium position. However, Rose Zhang made history as the first American athlete on the ranking list and finished in 8th place overall. Unfortunately, her performance during the Final Round fell short of expectations as she scored +2 for that round and ultimately achieved a total score of 5-under par.

Down the rankings, Nelly Korda (United States) will come up next on the list. She managed a 1-under score that put her in a three-way tie for twenty-second place and left her feeling anguish.

The defending gold medalist is not in the ideal spot.

After finishing in 6th place during Round 3 and being determined to climb up the ranks, her position has significantly decreased. Although she couldn’t make it to the top for this year’s Olympics, we anticipate seeing her on the team once more in future competitions.
