In his first US Open qualifier, the teenage son of Tiger Woods failed to progress.

In an effort to qualify for the upcoming US Open at Pinehurst in June, Tiger Woods’ 15-year-old son competed in a local qualifying event held in Florida. Unfortunately, Charlie Woods did not make it past the first hurdle and finished with a score of nine over par. Only the top five competitors were able to advance to final qualifying round for the major tournament.

Charlie Woods failed to qualify for the US Open in his debut effort.

Finishing in a tie for 61st place, the young golfer whose father is Tiger Woods – a three-time US Open winner – shot a nine-over 81 at The Legacy Golf and Tennis Club local qualifier event held in Florida. This achievement was accomplished within only one day.

The final qualifying for this year’s US Open, being held at Pinehurst No 2 on June 13-16 and broadcast live on Sky Sports Golf, only allows the top five finishers from a pool of 84 players to advance.

In April and May, there are 109 local qualifying events happening across the USA and Canada. The teenage Woods participated in one of these events. Those who finish at the top of each event will move on to one of thirteen final qualifying sites taking place in late May or early June.

The open qualifying for 2024 received a total of 10,052 entries.

In Woods’ scorecard, there was a single birdie accompanied by four bogeys and an additional three double bogeys. On the front nine, his performance earned him a score of 40 while on the back nine he scored 41.

Having previously competed in a pre-qualifier for the Cognizant Classic last February and shot an 86, this is his second bid to qualify for a Tour event this year.

Having teamed up at the four preceding PNC Championships, Tiger and Charlie attained second place in 2021.

Every December, the tournament is held for major champions or those who have triumphed at The Players Championship and spans across 36 holes. What was initially intended as a father-son affair now has players teaming up with their daughters, grandchildren, even parents to participate together.

It’s futile to be insecure. In my youth, I behaved like an elderly individual; however in my later years, I had to adjust to living as a young person. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Aenean commodo.
