The Olympic organizers were accused of showing favoritism by Dottie Ardina since uniforms were not provided to her team during the entire season, while others received them.
Dottie Ardina, a Filipino golfer, voiced her dissatisfaction with the absence of uniforms at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
This week, Ardina and her fellow Filipina golfer Bianca Pagdanganan will be participating in the women’s golf event at the Paris Olympics.
Ardina gained internet fame for her video of attaching her country’s flag to her t-shirt before the third round on Friday, August 9.
By highlighting the issue, the Filipino golfer criticized officials for their failure to provide uniforms at a prestigious game and deemed it disgraceful.
According to GMA News Online, she expressed her concerns in the language native to her and provided a Google translation of her statement.
“Isn’t it fun? I hope everyone has a uniform. We are the only ones without one, so we need to buy a t-shirt.”
What kind of Olympics is this, my God! A shoutout to those who didn’t give up. Where are our uniforms? What happened to them?
She expressed embarrassment as she stated, “We are a group of only two people and there remain merely 22 athletes. We have not yet attained what we require. It is shameful that although there is such an immense crowd around us, my colleague and I are the sole individuals without uniforms and still left in disarray.”
Since 2013, Dottie Ardina has pursued a career as a professional golfer and is presently an active player on the Epson Tour. Throughout her journey so far, she has secured three triumphant achievements in competitions. Additionally, she’s had the opportunity to participate in four of five Major championships over time with one standout season where she tied for 12th place at Women’s PGA Championship held during 2021.
She clinched her initial professional triumph in 2014 at the Singha-SAT Thai LPGA Championship, went on to seize first place at Ballarat Icons Pro-Am tournament in 2020 and emerged victorious again by winning the Copper Rock Championship held during Epson Tour’s edition of 2022.
