Sad details of Rory McIlroy’s divorce have emerged with court documents showing the glamorous couple were “irretrievably broken”.

Rory McIlroy has filed for divorce from his wife Erica Stoll ahead of this week’s PGA Championship.
The golfer filed divorce documents on Tuesday seven years after they got married, The New York Post reports.
McIlory shares three-year-old daughter Poppy with Stoll.
The 35-year-old was recently valued to be worth $380m (£200m).
The four-time major winner was first romantically linked to Stoll in late 2014, months after he broke off his engagement with tennis star Caroline Wozniacki.
They met two years prior at the Ryder Cup, where Stoll worked as a PGA transport official, according to People.

McIlroy’s camp has offered comment on his stunning divorce filing from his wife Erica Stoll.
His communication team confirmed Wednesday that he had filed for divorce in a Florida court.
“Rory McIlroy’s communications team confirmed today that a divorce has been filed. They stressed Rory’s desire to ensure this difficult time is as respectful and amicable as possible,” said a statement from his manager, Sean O’Flaherty, per the Irish Independent.
Details off the divorce have continued to emerge throughout Wednesday and the documents filed with the court have since been widely reported.
