“I desire to rest in his embrace every night.”

During the early days of her reporting career, Amanda Balionis struggled with sleeplessness before conversing with Tiger Woods.

During a Q&A session with Links Magazine, the 39-year-old CBS correspondent was posed with the question of which…

The 15-time major winner whom I interviewed made me the most nervous as even her legs were shaking uncontrollably due to anxiousness when she sat down.

There’s no doubt about it, Tiger Woods was one of the earliest interviewees I had when joining PGATour.com.

Balionis expressed her gratitude for the camera angle being positioned from the waist up, as she was experiencing uncontrollable nervous shaking in her legs. She confessed to losing a considerable amount of sleep leading into that interview.

In 2011, Balionis became a member of the PGA Tour until she transitioned to CBS in 2017.

Balionis, while conversing with Links, divulged the most significant highlights of her broadcasting profession up until now.

“There are a few that come to mind,” she recounted, “including the interview with Dustin Johnson after his victory at the 2020 Masters when he opened up. Additionally, presiding over Phil Mickelson’s trophy presentation following his win at the 2021 PGA Championship was truly remarkable; witnessing both its historic significance and how crowds eagerly guided him towards the final green is an unforgettable sight for me.”

Having begun playing golf at a young age of “around 7 or 8 years old,” Balionis is currently preparing for NFL season, where she will assume the role of an on-field reporter for CBS Sports.

On August 13, she said an emotional goodbye to the network’s golf season for 2024 through a post on Instagram.

The 2024 @golfoncbs season has come to a close! It encompassed an array of emotions, from monumental events to heartrending occurrences and everything in between. As someone who adores working in sports and playing this game, I thrive on the non-stop sources of inspiration, drama, intense happiness, resilience development growth opportunities that accompany competing at such a high level with teamwork,” expressed Balionis.

In her post, she included several events from the season. These consisted of Rory McIlroy’s victory at the Wells Fargo Championship in May 2024 which stirred up unfounded rumors about a romantic involvement between him and her during his separation from wife Erica Stoll that was later reconciled.

Balionis expressed her gratitude, stating that being a part of an incredible team that brings these moments and stories to life every weekend is truly an honor. She hopes that their work has left viewers with one new favorite player or a memorable moment shared with loved ones. Balionis looks forward to seeing everyone on the NFL sidelines again next season!
