Simone Biles Admits GOAT Diamond Necklace ‘Turns People Off’
In recent years, the name Simone Biles has become synonymous with greatness.
This summer in Paris, the American gymnast superstar added to her already impressive list of achievements by winning three more Olympic gold medals. Biles also debuted a “GOAT” pendant necklace at the Summer Games.
As the custom piece made waves, other athletes and fans began sharing their reactions to Biles, subtly adding themselves to the debate surrounding her status as the greatest gymnast of all time. The 27-year-old was a guest on “The Tonight Show” this week. During a conversation with host Jimmy Fallon, Biles was asked how she felt about the “GOAT” title. She further explained that calling herself a “goat” is a reminder not only to her supporters but also to her detractors.

\”Well, I think it’s funny to play off,\” Biles told Fallon. “Obviously, all my fans and people have accepted and loved and supported me through my journey. But it also goes for the haters, because there are always comments like, ‘Stop calling him the GOAT.’ It’s not a GOAT.”
“I mean, it makes people happy, but it just makes them crazy,” she said. Anyone hoping to get a replica of Biles’ necklace will face a major obstacle: The jeweler who made the original eye-catching piece has vowed to “never” copy it. “This is an exclusive, one-of-a-kind creation created for Simone, who is truly extraordinary,” Janet Heller of Janet Heller Fine Jewelry told People magazine last month. “Simone is one of a kind, and that’s why I think the goat [necklace] should be the same.”
