Forbes magazine estimates that Biles will earn $7.1 million in 2023, with about $7 million of that coming from endorsements and the rest from direct gymnastics income, making her the 16th highest-paid female athlete in the world that year.

She has collaborated with many brands, including United Airlines, Visa, gymwear collection GK Elite, and hair care brand K18. Biles was the only gymnast to make the top 20 highest-paid athletes list last year.

Biles was a long-time Nike sponsor, but changed her mind in 2021 and partnered with sports brand Athleta after female employees accused Nike of creating a harmful environment for women, but Nike returned to sponsor USA Gymnastics in 2023. Biles could earn thousands of dollars at the Olympics from medals alone. The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee awards $37,500 to gold medalists, $22,500 to silver medalists and $15,000 to bronze medalists. Biles will compete for the Olympic all-around gold medal, a title she first won in 2016, on Thursday at 12:15 p.m. Eastern time. There, too, she is the favorite to win, but could face stiff competition from Brazilian gymnast Rebeca Andrade.

  1. That’s the number of medals Biles has won at the Olympics and world championships, the most of any gymnast. That includes her most recent medal, a team gold in Paris, and she’s in contention to win as many as four more this week. This week’s team gold medal broke Biles’ tie with American gymnast Shannon Miller, making her the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history, with eight total Olympic medals. Biles also qualified for the vault, balance beam and floor finals later this week. She’s a medal contender for all three: She qualified with the highest scores on vault and floor, and earned the second-highest beam score in the qualification round.
