Kigan Bradley played with a star performance with the BMW championship, and the result was crystal.
Bradley, the captain of the recently appointed rider USA cup, has won a great feat by winning the first PGA tour event for the captain for the first time in nine years! It was as impressive, and he was also an assistant for the next presidential cup captain. With his victory at the BMW Championship, he was promoted to captain of the U.S. Ryder Cup team.
Bradley, the new captain of the U.S. Ryder Cup team, achieved the incredible feat of winning his first PGA Tour event as a captain in nine years. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, he is also the alternate captain for the upcoming Presidents Cup. His victory at the BMW Championship has moved him to 10th in the Presidents Cup standings, making him a strong candidate for captaincy. Bradley is open to whatever role the team wants him to play and is honored to be under consideration to compete in the prestigious tournament. His outstanding performance in challenging conditions at high altitude and unpredictable winds secured him the victory. Although Bradley received some help from Scott, who unfortunately missed the back nine, it was Bradley’s incredible shot that ultimately secured the victory. With a fantastic 5-iron that landed just 16 feet from the pin, Bradley effectively sealed his victory. With two smooth trips for a bird and a practical advantage with two shots, he gave himself a pleasant pillow and for a while to warm up in the glory of the crowd “u-a! USA!
Scott’s last chance to catch up has disappeared in the 15th hole. Bradley found himself in a deep bunker about eight feet from the pin, while Scott was sitting on the fairway just 101 yards from the flag. However, his corner shot sailed just above the green, deep and harsh. Eventually, they both matched Bogie. But Scott can take some solace in the fact that he finished in the top 30 who qualified for East Lake. Not bad!
And let’s not forget Justin Thomas, who managed to qualify for the Tour Championship at East Lake despite being at home in Florida just like Bradley was last week. What a breathtaking view!
Herman needed an easy par on the final hole to stay in the top 30, but instead made a double bogey. Wow!
Noren, who had never been to East Lake before, looked like a surefire contender for a spot in the top 30. He made a great 25-foot par putt on the 13th hole and followed that up with a birdie on the 14th hole. But alas, he stumbled with three straight bogeys to finish his round, with the most damaging one on the supposedly easy par-5 17th hole at Castle Pines. He had to lay up from a drive in the rough and ended up in a bunker with his wedge shot. Talk about a tough break. He achieved a disappointing score of 75. As for Bradley, he received $4 million for his second BMW title. That’s quite an accomplishment!
Tommy Fleetwood and Chris Kirk joined Bradley and Scott in the top 30 at the Tour Championship, both with solid 69s. They managed to eliminate Herman, Jason Day, Davis Thompson and Denny McCarthy. Bad luck to those guys!
