The job of Scottie Scheffler’s millionaire caddie has been deemed overrated by fans. This comes after the caddy earned more money than Tiger Woods this year, which angered many people.
Assisting Scheffler to two Major wins earned Ted Scott around four million dollars.
A humorous dispute ensued on social media between Scottie Scheffler’s caddy and an irritated fan when the former disclosed that he earned a greater sum than Tiger Woods for aiding the 28-year-old golf sensation in winning The Masters.
In 2024, Ted Scott earned a significant sum of money due to his important position beside the top-ranked player. He received $4 million in total with $2 million being attributed to Scheffler’s win at the Tour Championship, which represented 10% of their earnings.
Scott’s earnings are so massive that he would rank 19th among PGA Tour pros, surpassing Viktor Hovland, Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Thomas and even the legendary but currently sidelined Tiger Woods.
However, certain supporters opined that he was receiving excessive compensation after golfer turned caddie Kip Henley shared a humorous comment online suggesting his willingness to replace Scott at a significantly lower wage.
However, a certain fan crossed the line by making personal attacks on X.com (previously known as Twitter). They claimed that “‘Caddie’ is a job which has been grossly overrated throughout history. It can easily be done by any of the 10 million people in the US.”
The caddie, who had previously worked alongside Bubba Watson and later joined forces with Scheffler to guide him towards 13 PGA Tour triumphs along with Masters titles in both 2022 and 2024, refused to overlook the matter.
Upon being confronted, Scott promptly countered with a harsh remark: “Incorrect. Due to your pessimistic behavior and tendency to post malicious comments on Twitter, not everyone would desire to be in your presence. This implies that there are still 9,999,999 individuals who could easily replace me.”
What was Tiger Woods’ earnings for 2024?
Despite ongoing injury battles and retirement looming on the horizon, Woods earned just $34,000 for a single tournament through 2024 in his career as a golfing legend.
Despite participating in the Masters cut for a record-breaking 24 times, the Californian golfer only earned less than an average American income from his performances on the green.
Apart from that, it was a season of disappointment for him as he failed to qualify for the US Open, PGA Championship and the Open Championship. Furthermore, he withdrew from all other events in which he participated.
