Woods and Jay Monahan are in New York this week as part of a PGA Tour delegation to meet with Saudi Arabia’s PIF about a possible investment.
Tiger Woods and other PGA Tour officials are scheduled to meet with members of the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) on Tuesday to discuss a possible peace agreement with LIV Golf. The PGA Tour has been in talks with the PIF since tour commissioner Jay Monahan and Saudi Arabian President Yasser Al-Rumayyan unexpectedly announced a framework agreement last June.
But a year later, no deal has been signed, leading to growing frustration among fans and players. However, negotiations are still ongoing, with ESPN reporting that Woods, Monahan and others are in New York to meet with their Saudi counterparts to move forward.
Little public information has been released about the negotiations in recent months, but Monahan shed some light on the current situation at the recent Tour Championship at East Lake. “Look where we are now. We are in regular dialogue and we have the right people sitting at the negotiating table with the right attitude,” he said.
