Who is the goat? Install discussions between Tiger Woods and Jack Nicrauss

Everyone loves a good discussion about goats. Alex Mizeri looks closer at the numbers and wrote that the answer is clear.

Most fans agree that even if the nicurus career in golf is not the best, it is one of the best. Depending on your age, Nicklaus is either your GOAT, or if you’re younger, Nicklaus might be right behind Tiger Woods.

I just turned 65 and I’ve seen Nicklaus win majors. For me, this question is controversial.

But imposing one’s will on others is unfair, so let’s take a look at the Golden Bear’s record. And if you’re under 30 and you’re from a generation that’s only grown up watching Woods, Nicklaus might be on your radar soon.

There’s only one place to start: the majors. When you evaluate a golfer’s career, there’s nothing that compares to the four majors, whether it’s the Players Championship, the FedEx Cup or the Ryder Cup.

Nikas and Woods have both done well in the majors, but Nikas’ major career was substandard and will likely never be replicated. A win would be important, and Nicklaus leads Woods 18-15, but as important as the difference between three wins is, the gap to second place might be even more impressive. Nicklaus has 19 major final appearances to Woods’s just 7. Breaking it down further, Nicklaus has nine third-place finishes to Woods’s just four. Now let’s do the math: Woods has 26 triples in the majors and Nicklaus has 46, a significant difference. It’s hard to doubt that Nicklaus isn’t a GOAT based on his major numbers alone. Of course, in his general resume, Nick Crauss are in almost all indicators -except for victory, but it is better to take it, but it is not enough to take.

Woods has won 82 victories in his career, and Nichraus 72 is a big difference, but when considering other finishes, it will not decide on itself. Nicklaus has 57 second place finishes and 269 top 10s in his career, while Woods has 31 second place finishes, 26 fewer than Nicklaus, and 199 top 10s, 60 fewer than his Golden Bear title.

With the exception of career wins, Nicklaus has more wins than Woods in every category. He’s 83 now and it says here that he’s still great.
