Woods has undergone several surgeries on his back and knees over the years. Woods underwent a lower back fusion in 2017, leading to a career resurgence that saw him win three times in 12 starts, including the 2018 Tour Championship and the 2019 Masters. Since being involved in a serious car accident in February 2021, Woods has competed in just 10 official tour starts and won the prize money just three times.
