Tiger Woods is named “GOAT” by fans after record-setting 24th consecutive Masters
Tiger Woods made history in his first full PGA Tour event in a year.
Woods finished the second round of the 2024 Masters on Friday with an even-par 72 on a windy day at Augusta National. He entered the tournament at plus-1 on Saturday, finishing inside the top 50 and becoming the first player in Masters history to make the cut 24 times in a row.
There was less than an hour of rest between the rain-delayed final match of the first round and the start of the second round on Friday. Woods looked a little fatigued early on, finishing with four bogeys in the second round, including three on the front nine.
He bounced back with three birdies, including a chip shot on the sixth hole.
He finished the round by making par with a putt on No. 18, earning a standing ovation from the crowd at Augusta National.
In his last PGA Tour event, Woods withdrew after 24 holes from the 2024 Genesis Invitational. If he could complete the master, this will be noted in his first complete PGA tour event from the moment when ankle surgery is on April 2023.
It marked the latter on a 15 -fold 15 -over operation line, including some right legs and ankles after the car accident in 2021. The absence from the Tour didn’t stop Woods from recovering to qualify on Friday.
The third round of the 2024 Masters begins Saturday. The T -shirt time has not been decided yet.
Woods has been looking for his sixth Masters victory and his first victory since 2019. He needs one more win to tie Jack Nicklaus for most tournament wins in PGA Tour history.
