XANDER SCHAUFFELE and SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER can have different positions for LIV players who are currently qualified for Ryder Xander School and Scottie Scheffler.
Saudi Arabia Support Tour players were subject to the Rider Cup and the US PGA championship, and was confirmed after the US PGA added a LIV to the “approved visit” list. This allows LIV players to gain membership in the organization, which is a prerequisite for being allowed to play against Team Europe.
Brooks Koepka was the only LIV player for Team USA to compete in the 2023 tournament in Rome, but only after receiving a wildcard from captain Zach Johnson. The PGA Tour’s decision to abandon the ban on VIV players will open the door like us, open champion, Bryson Deseshmbo and Dustin Johnson.
The latter’s participation is welcomed by Xander Shauffel, who was appointed Johnson last year when he was asked who would be his partner in the couples, cut his teammates from the Ryder Cup, including a close friend of Patrick Kanlai . However, Scheffler may not be so welcoming of these LIV players.

The world No. 1 suggested earlier this year that LIV leavers should face some kind of sanction for abandoning the PGA Tour. He told Golf Channel:
“I think a different level of player has left. There were some players who left the tour and sued him, which wasn’t very nice. And then there were other guys who just left and wanted to do something different, and everyone made their own decisions, and I don’t have any ill will towards the guys who left.
“But the way to come back, it wouldn’t have been a very popular decision, I think, if they had just come back like nothing happened. They kind of left and… they left our tour, that’s just part of it.

This could be a way for them to come back, but they certainly shouldn’t come back without some contribution to the tour.”
Following the announcement of the change, the PGA Tour said: “Going forward, all LIV Golf players will be eligible to play in the PGA Championship, and any U.S. player who qualifies with points for the Ryder Cup or is added to Team USA as a member of the captain will be eligible to compete. “This is consistent with LIV golfers having competed in the PGA Championship for the past two years. Brooks Koepka was a member of Team USA at last year’s Ryder Cup.
