Bombshell Announcement::Lewis Hamilton learns Carlos Sainz’s true feelings as F1 star details why he’s still angry
Carlos Sainz has opened up on his time at Ferrari, admitting he is still ‘angry’ about his poor 2022 season which ultimately cost him as his time with the Prancing Horse comes to an endCarlos Sainz revealed he is still “angry” about not making the most of his opportunities at Ferrari – but the Spanish F1 driver admits their decision to replace him with Lewis Hamilton was a no-brainer.Ferrari made the bombshell announcement in February that Hamilton would take over Sainz’s seat for the 2025 season. Their initial statement, which hailed the arrival of the seven-time world champion, omitted any mention of Sainz who has been with the team since 2021.Sainz found himself unceremoniously axed by Ferrari as they chose Hamilton to partner Charles Leclerc, despite being in the midst of contract renewal discussions for 2025 and beyond. And after months of uncertainty, the 30-year-old inked a two-year agreement with Williams in July. But Sainz insists he harbours no resentment towards Ferrari despite the abrupt end to his four-year stint with the Italian outfit. He even conceded that choosing Hamilton over himself was “understandable”.Sainz told AS: “I have no bad words for Ferrari. I don’t think they have any bad words for me either. It is a relationship that has ended not because we are not happy with each other, but because of a circumstantial issue.”I remain convinced that if Hamilton had not wanted to finish his career at Ferrari, I would have renewed. But you can’t say no to a seven-time world champion, I understand that, it’s a pairing that was meant to be together and it’s been my turn.”
