Angel Reese’s first message after losing AP Rookie of the Year to Kaitlyn Clark says it all
It’s official. Indiana Fever superstar Kaitlyn Clark is the 2024 Associated Press Rookie of the Year. The announcement took place on Sunday afternoon.
The 22 -year -old Old was unanimous choice of the desired title. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese, widely considered Clark’s biggest threat to the Rookie of the Year race, spoke about Clark’s win:
Reese’s message, at least on the surface, had nothing to do with the Rookie of the Year race, but the Sky star sent a very clear message about his current state. “I woke up again a very blessed girl, a very happy girl. 😇🙏🏽\”, Reese wrote.
Reese still doesn’t seem fazed by this recent development. The former LSU superstar is counting her blessings as she continues to be grateful to be in the position she currently is in — regardless of the outcome of the AP Rookie of the Year vote.
Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark pose for photos ahead of the 2024 WNBA Draft. It’s worth noting that the rookie of the year award announced Sunday was given by the Associated Press, as it does every year.
The WNBA has yet to name its official winner, but it appears it’s only a matter of time before Clark is given the honor as well. However, when the voting results for the league’s 2024 MVP were released, Clark was ranked fourth overall. Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson received all 67 first-place votes to unanimously win her third MVP award.
