Fact check: Tiger Woods accused Kamala Harris of using a “fake black accent”? Golf legend’s viral quote debunked
On September 2, 2024, a quote purportedly from professional golfer Tiger Woods criticizing U.S. Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris went viral on social media. Please read the quote published in x by @pgataor:

This account was also called Babylon Bee and Luke’s golf version, false news, and satire content.
Uncle Luke responded to Camal Harris’s Tiger Woods \ Fake, and believed it was true. The rapper called out Woods for his hypocritical allegations regarding Kamala Harris, but many were quick to point out to the rapper that the quote was incorrect and not something the golf legend actually said. While Tiger Woods has not commented on Vice President Kamala Harris, he has spoken publicly about former President Donald Trump. The golfer revealed that he was so shaken by the July 13, 2024 assassination attempt on President Trump that his preparations for the Royal Troon Open were put on hold. In an interview with the BBC, Woods said:
“I wasn’t feeling well so I didn’t accomplish much. It was a long night because of the assassination attempt, but we just watched it go by.” I couldn’t sleep at all during the flight, and we just arrived on the golf course. \ “
Trump awarded the Tiger Woods of Liberty Medal in 2019. They often enjoyed together in golf. In an August 2018 interview, Woods was asked about his relationship with the former president, to which he responded:
“I’ve known Donald for many years. We’ve played golf together. We’ve had dinner together. I’ve known him pre-presidency and obviously during his presidency.”
When asked about his views on Trump\’s policies regarding immigrants, Woods refused to give a straight answer, saying that he had to \”respect the office.\” Tiger Woods and Trump also partnered on designing a new golf course in Dubai in 2019. It is unclear whether Tiger Woods is a Democrat or Republican, as he has chosen to stay out of politics throughout his career.
In other news, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are actively campaigning for the November 5th presidential election. The two candidates are preparing for their first debate, which will air on ABC News on September 10.
