Simone Biles\’ legacy continues to grow both on and off the mat. Following the Electric Olympique in Paris earlier this summer, the 27-year-old 11-time Olympic medalist will open her own restaurant, Taste of Gold.
A new hot spot is set to come to Houston’s George W. Bush Airport in 2025. The restaurant will celebrate Biles’ historic achievements as a gymnast and will feature special food and beverage offerings selected by Mark Brzezinski, a 45-year veteran of the field. Biles announced the new venture in a press release dated September 24, 2024. “I’m excited to partner with Playmakers Group and their dedicated team to help open a new restaurant in my hometown’s airport,” Biles said. “I’m a foodie at heart, and at Taste of Gold, I look forward to offering guests an incredible dining experience featuring award-winning signature dishes incorporating my favorite flavors.”
Fans of the iconic gymnast were quick to express their admiration for Taste of Gold on social media. “Simone Biles restaurant. I’d make a trip to Houston just to eat out,” one person shouted via X (formerly Twitter). Another fan used Biles’ nickname to ask about the restaurant’s food. “Will there be goat meat on the menu?” he joked. A third user expressed hope that Biles’ foray into the hospitality industry means WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark isn’t far behind: “So happy for @USAGym superstar @Simone_Biles. Don’t be surprised if @CaitlinClark22 becomes a restaurant owner one day.”
Biles currently lives in the Spring, Texas area with her husband, Chicago Bears defensive end Jonathan Owens.
