People think Simone Biles may have just ‘leaked the biggest gymnastics secret’ ever
Gymnast Simone Biles may have unknowingly ‘leaked the biggest gymnastics secret’ ever in one of her latest videos.
If you haven’t seen it already, prepare to get your mind blown – this is truly ground-breaking stuff.
Biles became the fourth American female artistic gymnast to compete at the Olympics, while already being looked at as one of the greatest gymnasts of all-time.
But it looks like she isn’t at skills at keeping secrets of the sport under wraps, as her simple TikTok video has gone viral for unveiling a well-kept secret.
The 27-year-old’s TikTok has since been stitched by Ian Gunther, a fellow gymnast who posts daily content related to the sport on the social media app.
He starts by explaining that the athlete has leaked ‘the biggest gymnastics secret’ as you are able to see a ‘gymnastics spotter’ in the background of the video in question.
It’s news that will surely rock the sporting world, as Gunther goes on to explain that these spotters, dressed from head to toe in green, train meticulously for months to help gymnasts maintain their positions, spotting them without being seen – obviously because green can be edited out on TV and people in the arena are blind.
It’s no wonder they’re able to pull off all of the moves and flips that they attempt.
Gunther even uncovered footage of the green men warming up, confirming the rumour for good, while (not so hidden) footage was also released of US gymnastics coach Laurent Landi speaking to the spotters.
“Good luck today, be safe, make sure to keep our athletes safe, and please don’t be seen,” he instructed the spotters.
If you haven’t realised already, the entire video is a parody, making fun of those who doubt gymnasts and highlighting how difficult the sport really is.
“All the gymnastics you see being done is actually impossible and it’s all done by spotters,” Gunther sarcastically explained.
Apparently (not really), the green men practice ‘for months’ so that they can make the performance look ‘as real as possible’, while not getting seen.
Gunther explains that because the audience want the gymnasts to do more ‘demanding’ things on the floor, the professionals have had no choice but to hire spotters.
The video hilariously ends with the words, ‘GYMNASTICS ISN’T REAL’.
Viewers took to the comments section to make some jokes about the ‘revelation’.
One user joked: “What about people who watch it in person do they not see them or something?”
A second posted: “As a gymnast this is true and they help me every day”
A third highlighted: “GUYS HE JOKINNN”
A different user revealed: “As a gymnast I can confirm. There was a huge scandal at a meet a few years ago when a spotter pushed a girl off the beam bc they used to hook-up but she swapped him for a diff spotter.”
Scandalous stuff – if it was real, of course.
Simone Biles has called out reporters for one question they ‘have to stop’ asking her.
The absolute GOAT has not disappointed at this year’s Olympics, making a legendary comeback to the games as she solidifies her icon status.
Biles picked up her third gold medal of the Paris games yesterday (3 August) in the Women’s Vault final in the Artistic Gymnastics event.
With a current total of 10 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals, she is the most decorated gymnast in history.
So, it’s pretty fair to say the 27-year-old has earned that GOAT status. And she’s still got two more events to come in Paris – the floor and beam finals tomorrow (5 August).
But Biles took to X earlier this morning (4 August) to send a message to both fans and the media on behalf of both herself, and her fellow Olympians.
“You guys really gotta stop asking athletes what’s next after they win a medal at the Olympics,” she wrote.
The US star then followed up: “Let us soak up the moment we’ve worked our whole lives for.”
And let’s be honest, that’s a very reasonable point.
When one user then decided to ask: “What is your next step after winning Gold medal?” Biles had an iconic response.
“Babysitting the medal,” she wrote back.
Following yesterday’s third win at the Paris games, she shared a snap of her medals to Instagram looking well baby-sat on her USA flag blanket.
The athlete then posted a pic of her bed in the Olympic Village, complete with a little goat teddy and a picture of a goat’s head on the wall.
Users praised her post on X as they echoed: “Simone Biles POURS her heart and soul into her performance. What’s next? Enjoying the well-deserved glory!”
Another said: “A well-deserved break should be what’s next. Just sayin.”
Someone else agreed: “Absolutely agree! Athletes have just achieved something incredible and need time to enjoy and reflect on their success before thinking about what’s
Another praised Biles as they wrote: “Tell them Queen,” as fans of the ‘golden girl’ pointed out: “There is no scarier question for an athlete who has thought of nothing else than that medal ever since they can remember, than ‘what next’.”
After winning the women’s all-around gold on Thursday, Biles wrote on Instagram: “Can’t believe I did it, AGAIN . I’m truly speechless. Olympic All Around champion!!!!!!!!!”
Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles created an iconic photo on the Olympic podium today (5 August) when they bowed in the ultimate act of sportsmanship.
The US gymnasts scooped up silver and bronze in the floor event of the Artistic Gymnastics as Brazil’s Rebecca Andrade won gold.
It was Biles’ final event of the Paris Olympics as she truly solidified her GOAT status with a gold in the all around, vault and team events.
And she and teammate Chiles showed total respect for the Brazilian who scored a mega 14.166 (ahead of the American’s 14.133) when they were awarded their medals. As the Andrade stepped up to the podium to become the most decorated Brazilian in Olympic history, the US stars took to their knees.
Having gone viral on social media all afternoon since, Biles and Chiles bowed down to the gold medallist, waving their arms up and down as they celebrated her huge achievement.
While fans praised the pair for this golden moment, the GOAT gymnast said it was simply ‘the right thing to do’.
“I love Rebeca, she’s incredible,” Biles said. “She’s so amazing, a queen, it was an all-black podium so that was super exciting for us and then Jordan said ‘shall we bow to her’ and I said ‘absolutely’ – that’s why we did.
“She’s so exciting to watch and it was the right thing to do.”
Chiles went on to call the Brazilian an ‘icon, a legend’.
“So I feel like being recognised is what everybody should do when it comes to somebody who’s put in the work and dedication,” the gymnast explained.
“I was like, ‘You know what? Why don’t we just give her her flowers?’ She’s given a lot of us in the United States our flowers as well.
“So, giving it back is what makes it so beautiful. So I felt like it was needed.”
Andrade went on to say the iconic moment was ‘so caring’ as she got the love from her fellow medallists.
“We were talking about everything that was going on [backstage]. They are the best in the
“So, a scene like that means a lot to me. It’s so grand and I feel so honoured, we are always rooting for the best for all.
She added: “As I said, we know how hard it is, the final was hard for everyone. So it was an honour.”
While Simone Biles has been making history on the gymnastics floor, she’s also been making some pretty brutal comments online.
Racking up some extra medals at this year’s Olympics, the GOAT is now the most decorated gymnast in history.
And aside from doing the ultimate act of sportsmanship on the podium and calling out reporters over one specific question, she’s also called out her ex-teammate.
Earlier last week, Biles and her fellow Team USA gymnasts (Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey and Hezly Rivera) took gold in the women’s artistic team all-around event.
Taking their celebrations to Instagram, the 27-year-old took a swipe at previous Olympic silver medallist MyKayla Skinner, who didn’t make the cut for the Paris team.
In a now-deleted video, the gymnast questioned the talent and dedication of this year’s team and said ‘besides Simone, I feel like the talent and the depth just isn’t like what it used to be’.
Skinner added: “The girls just don’t have the work ethic.”
She later apologised for her comments, adding that it was ‘not my intention to offend or disrespect any of the athletes or to take away from their hard work’.
However, this didn’t exactly sit well so when they picked up the gold, Biles shared a photo with her teammates, writing: “Lack of talent, lazy, Olympic champions.”
The star also took to Threads to say: “Not everyone needs a mic and a platform.”
It was then soon revealed, with a repost from the star gymnast, that Skinner had ‘blocked Simone’.
Having previously shared an apology, she went on to say: “I made a comment about work ethic and what seems to be taking pace with the rising generation.
“To be totally clear, I take 100 percent responsibility for poorly articulating the point I was trying to make and the last thing I wanted was to cause harm or offend our US Olympic team.”
She also begged Biles to ask her ‘followers to stop’.
In an interview with People, Biles defended calling Skinner out as she said: “For somebody to stand up, I know it meant a lot for [my teammates].”
She explained that she takes her role as ‘team lead’ seriously and she’s happy to use her voice to stand up both for her team and herself.
“It’s important because you have to teach them to use their voices. And if not, you’re a voice for the voiceless, which is okay. I just felt like it was right in that moment to stand up for them, because they’re so young and they haven’t fully stood in their power yet,” Biles said.
Fans were quick to notice Simone Biles’ facial expression midway through the floor exercise portion of her all-around gymnastics performance.
Biles has just helped lead Team USA to a gold medal at the Paris Olympics Games, the fourth in US history and the 27-year-old’s eighth in in her Olympic career.
An athlete that truly transcends the sport of gymnastics and widely regarded as the best performer of all time, her performances are closely watched around the world, so it’s no surprise that fans noticed this small detail in her routine.
Biles was part of a stacked all-around gymnastics team, with the likes of Jordan Chiles, Hezly Rivera, Sunisa Lee and Jade Carey making up the rest of the all-star team.
The result makes Biles the single most decorated US Olympic gymnast, with five gold medals, one silver and two bronzes.
All five athletes showed up though, with stellar performances across all apparatuses to help the US take gold home yet again – though it wasn’t without a small bit of drama.
One of the noteworthy moments that had fans at home holding their breath, was when Biles was performing her final routine of the night – the floor exercise.
All was going well as the star athlete flipped and leapt on the springboard floor, until something (almost) unthinkable happened.
Biles landed and lost balance for a second, accidentally stepping out of bounds and giving herself a .1 deduction, as per Olympic scoring rules.
In the grand scheme of things, not much considering the rest of the performance managed to help secure the gold medal, but it showed that Biles might be slightly – just slightly – human.
Fans took to social media, as screenshots of the athlete realising she’d made a tiny mistake did the rounds on X, as she cheekily stuck her tongue out before continuing with her routine.
However, not many seemed to care about the slip-up, as one fan thought it showed her humility: “Simone always makes me smile! I love her! Her heart is warm!”
While another user said: “My favourite bit of the Simone Biles Netflix documentary was when she talked about how the support and encouragement of the other gymnasts was key to her comeback.
“Look at them now.”
The whole team performed in front of a star-studded crowd, with the likes of Michael Phelps and Serena Williams also watching on in support.
