Golf fans are fearing the worst for Tiger Woods after the American legend withdrew from the Genesis Invitational on Friday due to illness, having completed only six holes that day. This was his first PGA Tour event of the year and his first official tournament since last April’s Masters. After playing a total of just 24 holes in this competition, Woods decided to call it quits.

The 48-year-old golfer hit his tee shot on the seventh hole Friday, then requested a cart and was driven off the course by a rules official. According to PGA Tour official Mark Dusbabek during the telecast, Woods withdrew due to an illness unrelated to his ankle or back.
