Following Sunday’s emotional German Darts Championship final, Luke Littler sent a public message to Peter Wright. Littler suffered a shocking defeat to Wright and broke down in tears after the match while paying tribute to his friend’s late father. “I have to give a big thank you to my friend Ellis,” said “The Nuke” after being beaten 8-5 by “Snakebite.” “He lost his father.” I’ve known him since he was 3 or 4 years old.”
Littler was consoled onstage by the presenter as he left in tears. “I wasn’t asking for sympathy or anything, just wanted to say that my best friend lost his father at a young age. I’ve known Ellis since he was 3 or 4 years old and I’ve been thinking about it all week,” he wrote. “(He’s) the strongest man I know but just didn’t get the job done the way I wanted.”
Littler has spoken out again, but in his latest statement he praised Wright’s performance in leading the team to a surprise win in Germany. “I want to thank everyone for the messages last night. I appreciate all the support,” Littler wrote to X. “It wasn’t the result I wanted, but Peter played well all weekend and I want to congratulate him on his win.”

In Hildesham, Ritreer missed the third European tour of the season. He held a comfortable 5-2 lead over Wright until the Scot finished with a 146 to inspire him to win six consecutive legs to claim the top prize.
