(R I P) Hollywood announces sad news about Angelina Jolie, her death is confirmed.
Angelina Jolie is an Oscar-winning actress who rose to fame after her role in Girl, Interrupted (1999), playing the title role in the hit films “Lara Croft”, as well as in Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005), Wanted (2008), Salt (2010), and Maleficent (2014).
Off-screen, Jolie is actively involved in international charity projects, especially those involving refugees. She often appears on many “most beautiful women” lists, and she has a personal life that is avidly covered by the tabloid press.Jolie was born Angelina Jolie Voight in Los Angeles, California.
In her earliest years, Angelina began absorbing the acting craft from her actor parents, Jon Voight, an Oscar-winner, and Marcheline Bertrand, who had studied with Lee Strasberg. Her attractive looks may be due to her German and Slovakian ancestry on her father’s side, and French Canadian, Dutch, Polish, and distant Huron ancestry on her mother’s side.
At the age of 11, Angelina began studying at the Lee Strasberg Institute of Dramatic Arts, where she appeared in several productions. She undertook film studies at New York University and then joined the famous Met Theater Group in Los Angeles. At 16, she participated in a career in modeling and appeared in certain clips.
Pretty and Pitt announced in early 2006 that they would have a child together, and Jolie gave birth to her daughter Shiloh in May. They also adopted a three-year-old Vietnamese boy named Pax. The couple, who married in 2014 and divorced in 2019, continue to work on film and humanitarian projects and now have a total of six children.
She was appointed an Honorary Dame Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2014 for her contributions to British foreign policy and the campaign to end sexual violence in war zones. On 16 February 2013, at the age of 37, Jolie underwent a preventive double mastectomy after learning that she had an 87% risk of developing breast cancer due to a faulty BRCA1 gene.
Her mother’s family history prompted genetic testing for BRCA mutations; her mother had breast cancer and died of ovarian cancer, and her grandmother also died of ovarian cancer. Jolie’s aunt, who had the same BRCA1 defect, died of breast cancer three months after Jolie’s surgery. After a mastectomy, which reduced her chances of developing breast cancer to less than 5 percent, Jolie underwent reconstructive surgery, including implants and an allograft (a transplant from a donor).
Two years later, in March 2015, after annual screening results indicated possible signs of early-stage ovarian cancer, she underwent a preventative salpingo-oophorectomy (removal of one ovary and its fallopian tube) because she had a 50 percent risk of developing ovarian cancer due to the same genetic abnormality.
Despite hormone replacement therapy, the surgery caused premature menopause. After each surgery, Jolie discussed her mastectomy and oophorectomy in op-eds for The New York Times, with the goal of helping other women make informed health choices.
She detailed her diagnosis, surgeries, and personal experiences, and described her decision to undergo preventive surgery as a proactive measure for the sake of her six children.Jolie further wrote: “On a personal note, I do not feel any less of a woman.
I feel empowered that I made a strong choice that in no way diminishes my femininity.
