Between 2005 and 2015, Paige Spiranac competed in golf at the junior, collegiate, and amateur levels. She turned professional in December 2015 and started participating on the Cactus Tour based in Arizona.

Six months on, in May 2016, Spiranac achieved her first professional victory at the Orange Tree Golf Resort in Phoenix. She triumphed over Hannah O’Sullivan, who was then the world’s top-ranked amateur golfer, in a playoff. After shooting rounds of 73, 77, and 78 (totaling a score of 12-over-par at 228), Spiranac missed the cut for advancement by six strokes after the first three rounds. As a result, she did not move past the opening round and placed 225th out of the total field of 347 players that year. The Q-School in 2016 included three stages where competitors vied for spots; ultimately, this process awarded LPGA Tour cards to twenty players along with thirty-four special temporary memberships.
