Scottie Scheffler, in an emotional moment, tearfully announces his unexpected resignation following a controversial statement from Tiger Woods.
Masters champion Scottie Scheffler has earned over $62 million in prize money this year alone, and his caddie Ted Scott requires an accountant to manage the substantial income.
Scottie Scheffler has a considerable journey ahead if he aims to meet the achievements of Tiger Woods. However, he’s already mirroring the golf legend in one notable aspect.
Similar to Woods, Scheffler is turning his caddie into a wealthy individual. The 28-year-old golfer has had an outstanding year in 2024, amassing over $62 million in prize money after securing both his second Augusta title and the FedEx Cup championship this month.
Alongside these accomplishments, Scheffler secured five additional PGA Tour titles and claimed the Olympic gold medal in Paris. Generally, a professional golfer’s caddie can anticipate earning between 7 to 10 percent of the tournament winnings from such victories.
As a result, Scheffler’s caddie, Ted Scott—who began working with him after splitting from Bubba Watson in 2021—likely earned millions just this year. On the Pardon My Take podcast, Scott revealed that he needs to hire an accountant because of his substantial earnings. “We have someone who helps us manage our bills,” he mentioned.
Honestly, because I’ve got so much on my plate and can’t keep track of everything, she stepped in to handle that task. At the end of each week, she sends me a message saying something like “Hey, this is how much we’re paying Ted.” To which I respond enthusiastically with “That’s great!”
Scott isn’t the only caddie who struck it rich by partnering with a golf legend. Steve Williams, who worked with Tiger Woods, became New Zealand’s highest-earning sports figure in 2000, outperforming Olympic gold medalist Mark Todd and rugby star Jonah Lomu.
