F1 fans express outrage over Lewis Hamilton’s disappointing performance.
“Fans claim ‘Mercedes sabotaged Lewis Hamilton again’ after his disastrous final run in the F1 US GP sprint shootout.”
Lewis Hamilton’s final flying lap in Sprint Qualifying 3 was compromised when he encountered a yellow flag. This isn’t the first time that such an issue has disrupted a qualifying session for the seven-time world champion, prompting fans to express their opinions on social media.
After two outstanding qualifying sessions, SQ1 and SQ2, Hamilton seemed set for a strong position in SQ3. However, it didn’t pan out as expected. During his last flying lap, he delivered an impressive performance in Sector 1 with a four-tenth advantage but faltered in Sectors 2 and 3 due to the yellow flag disruption, ultimately securing P7 in qualification.
Hamilton’s teammate, George Russell, narrowly missed pole position by just 0.012 seconds as Max Verstappen secured it. Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris qualified in third and fourth positions respectively. Carlos Sainz took the fifth spot on the grid, while Nico Hulkenberg claimed sixth place.
Kevin Magnussen, Yuki Tsunoda, and Franco Colapinto finished in the top 10. Meanwhile, after Lewis Hamilton experienced a lackluster performance on Friday, fans expressed their frustration with Mercedes via social media for choosing to send him out significantly earlier than his rivals.
A fan expressed their frustration by blaming Mercedes for the debacle: “Mercedes has sabotaged Lewis once again… I’m not joking… THIS TEAM!”
“Toto is at it again. He needs to stop sabotaging Lewis’ race,” echoed another fan.
Another fan thinks, “Lewis could have taken pole position if he had been sent out later, but you know.”
“It could have been an easy 1-2 if they had been sent out at a decent time,” commented a fan regarding the timing mistake.
A fan criticized Mercedes’ strategy, stating, “It’s disappointing to see Lewis finish in P7. I can’t back the team’s decision to send George and Lewis out on the track before any other team.”
“Show some shame, you clowns,” another fan commented on Mercedes.
