Verstappen being investigated following incident in Brazilian GP sprint race

Max Verstappen is being investigated and has been called in by the stewards after an incident during the Brazilian Grand Prix sprint.

The current world champion began in fourth place and successfully overtook Charles Leclerc to move into third, before closing in on McLaren’s Oscar Piastri.

Verstappen was unable to pass the Australian driver, although he nearly succeeded on the final lap when a virtual safety car period concluded.

A VSC was activated after Haas’s Nico Hulkenberg came to a stop, just moments after McLaren switched the positions of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

As the Virtual Safety Car period concluded, Verstappen was extremely close to Piastri and is now under investigation for a possible infringement of VSC regulations.

As the Virtual Safety Car ended, the Red Bull driver was nearly level with the McLaren driver, sparking speculation that he might have been exceeding speed limits during neutralized conditions and surpassing the lap time delta.

Verstappen under investigation for an infraction? The VSC ending was announced on TV, yet the signs were left up—couldn’t this be seen as entrapment? If they ended under VSC conditions, it seems more like a joke and another way to give him penalties while manipulating the championship. Perhaps the stewards should be investigated for corruption and race manipulation. Why did they allow the race to continue but then impose a virtual safety car when McLaren had just enough time to swap positions, conveniently leaving Max without enough opportunity to challenge Oscar for second place or Red Bull from questioning why the VSC was implemented in relation with potential position swaps during CSCs (controlled speed condition). This situation deserves scrutiny; it’s curious that these incidents keep occurring when Johnny Herbert—a noted Lando supporter and Verstappen critic—is involved. It’s blatant manipulation of races and championships at what point will this stop being necessary—or simply declare who Johnny Herbert along with Sky Sports F1 or FIA wants as champion so fans are not misled by what’s starting feel like false outcomes!
