An F1 star is set to join their new team early at the end of the 2024 season.

Lewis Hamilton’s surprise move to Ferrari has sparked a frenzy in the driver market for 2025, as teams across the grid have undergone a major change.

Hamilton’s move to Maranello replaced Carlos Sainz, who spent most of 2024 trying to find an alternative team. Finally, in the summer, Sainz signed a long-term contract with Williams. It was a shocking move after rumors of him joining Mercedes, Aston Martin, Red Bull, and Sauber/Audi.

Carlos Sainz signs with Williams from next season

Unlike Hamilton, whose Ferrari debut will be delayed due to his Mercedes sponsorship commitments, it was officially announced that Sainz is set to make his Williams debut by the end of the year. The end-of-season tyre test will take place in Abu Dhabi after the season, with teams taking advantage of the opportunity to gain valuable data.

And Sainz will wear the new Williams kit and take to the track just days after his collaboration with Ferrari ends. Hamilton will be absent but a number of other drivers will be on track to test for their new teams, including Alpine’s Jack Doohan, Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli and future Haas star Ollie Biermann.
